IV The American Brazilian Aesthetic Meeting

February 01-05, 2012 – Florianópolis, SC

Dr. Wilson Novaes was once again an invited faculty at the IV The American Brazilian Aesthetic Meeting held in Florianópolis, SC. He presented two techniques at the biggest meeting of the great names of plastic surgery from Brazil and United States.

Dr. Novaes presented Lipotorsoplasty, his innovative technique chosen as the best body contouring technique by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) that won the ISAPS 2010 Body Contouring Research Foundation (BCRF) Prize during the ISAPS Biennial Congress in San Francisco. Lipotorsoplasty (technique created by Dr. Wilson Novaes) is the combination of liposuction (flanks, torso, hips and lower body), excess skin resection and gluteoplasty using fat grafting to shape the silhouette that presents major excess skin. This procedure improves the whole silhouette and body contour of patients presenting major excess skin and flaccidity caused by weight loss, sun exposure and old age.

Dr. Novaes also lectured about "Gluteal Fatgrafting and Body Contour", presenting his techniques and results.

The 16th World Congress of the International Confederation for Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery

May 22-27, 2011 - Vancouver, Canada

Dr. Novaes presented his 9 Lipoabdominoplasty and his internationally awarded body contouring technique: Lipotorsoplasty.

Dr. Wilson Novaes participated actively in the 16th IPRAS International Congress in Vancouver, Canada. He presented two of his outstanding techniques.

Dr. Novaes presented "SMAS Plication through FAME and Neck Lifting", technique created by him. The malar elevation approach through SMAS repositioning with progressive plication yields a natural aspect because each case is treated individually, improving malar elevation volume, cervical contour, mandibular and submental region definition, as well as mouth sides elevation. The standardized progressive plication allows the performance of an integrated treatment of the three regions: cervical, mandibular line and middle third.

His breakthrough technique was selected for the second consecutive time for the Biennial Congress of IPRAS: Lipotorsoplasty (technique created by Dr. Wilson Novaes), the combination of liposuction (flanks, torso, hips and lower body), excess skin resection and gluteoplasty using fat grafting to shape the silhouette that presents major excess skin. This procedure improves the whole silhouette and body contour of patients presenting major excess skin and flaccidity caused by weight loss, sun exposure and old age. The medical community that participated in the meeting could see the video of a surgery performed by him in a male post-weight loss patient, with the removal of a large amount of excess skin and fat with excellent final result. This innovative technique created by Dr. Novaes was chosen as the best body contouring technique by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) and won the ISAPS 2010 Body Contouring Research Foundation (BCRF) Prize during the ISAPS Biennial Congress in San Francisco.

Dr. Novaes' pioneer vision and constant innovation creating techniques that enable more safety, fast recovery and better aesthetic results caused a major impact in the medical community that attended the 16th edition of this important international biennial congress.
